Comparison is a thief. It enjoys stealing your identity in Jesus. It can quickly remind you of what you don't have & then opens the door to being unsatisfied with what you do have. When that spirit arises be quick to shut it down.
You may not be driving your dream car yet, nor wearing the hottest fashion, not yet living in your dream home, or have all of your ducks in a row! That is OK!
Know this, when you keep your eyes on Jesus, the author & finisher of your faith the value of your life will always be one that the world will want to have.
Loving life because of Jesus! Here, I get to tell you all about how you can love your life, too! To the single person, the happily in love, married, to the hurting world, and the adventurous heart know that there is no limit to how happy you can be when Jesus is in your life!

God Saved Me
God saved me today.
While squatting low to take this picture something ignited a leap in me that saved me from a snake that had jumped toward me from the wall that was inches away from my right side. It was the craziest thing. As I stood up I immediately began to jump around because as I looked down I saw what had leaped from the wall...it was a snake, a good size one, too. I let out a scream because I was pretty freaked out. It was constantly moving around my feet and where I was there wasn't a lot of room to go except for me to jump around. I tried to move from it and as I looked back down at it to see where it went I saw it turn and go right into the river. My God! All I could think of was "the devil's a liar"! HG was running towards us (me and the girls who were a foot or two away from me). He saw that snake from where he was. Guys, God is real. As I thought about what happened I told HG I couldn't even remember seeing that snake. I was too focused trying to get this beautiful shot of the waterfall. I know it was God leaping in me. His word tells me that He will protect and will not let evil come near me. God is so real, my friends. If you are in Him He is in you!

Don't be THAT wife
Good morning! While reading the Word this morning I came across a few scriptures that pretty much summed up what kind of wife I DON'T want to be! Proverbs 21:9 & 19 let us know that our husbands would much rather live elsewhere than in our ...home with us nagging. Another scripture says that a nagging wife is as annoying as a leaking faucet! Say what!? Yes, ladies. We have got to get it together.
What are some of the things we have been "nagging" about? We are speaking of things we nag about to our husbands not our children. Sometimes the nagging begins because we treat our men like they are our children. Ouch. This ministered to me because I knew right off a few recent things (hours ago) that I nagged about. Oops! So, I am making changes. It is not always THEM that need to change. We need to make sure that we are pleasing Jesus with our actions & words to those who are in our homes. Remember, if there is peace in me there will be peace in my home.

Check Yourself
Have you ever heard the phrase "If mama ain't happy ain't no one happy"? I'm sure you have! You might have even said it once or twice or often. Ha. Well, today I want to help you get that mind set out of your thinking. I like to think it should say, "If mama ain't happy she needs to get over it!"
We are the ones who control how we are. Bad days have no hold on me. Broken relationships have no hold on me. Children who do not want to clean their room DO NOT have a hold on me. I'm talking about our attitude, our hearts. We are to guard our hearts. We can be so quick to jump at our children, husbands, and sometimes even bite off the head of our girlfriends talking to them about all our frustrations at home, but if we can be real honest with ourselves lets admit that it isn't THEM who make us "crazy", it is ourselves!
I totally believe that it is up to me, the homemaker, excuse me, domestic engineer to set the atmosphere in my home. If I am miserable, there's a good chance my kids will be miserable. If I am frustrated or selfish there's a good chance my family will respond that way, too!
Let's face it, mama's need time outs every now and then. In that time we should strengthen ourselves by reminding us that we are called and anointed to be a mom and a wife, a daughter, and a great friend. It is Him who gives us the ability to do what we are called to do. No matter how many times I have to tell my kids to get in the shower, clean your room, finish your homework, get off the iPad, etc. I am working on keeping the peace between me and them. When my wonderful husband doesn't help me wash the dishes (hehe) I'm not going to let that little thing ruin my quiet time in the kitchen. I'm sure you can think of a few more situations on your own.
I hope you get what I am saying. How many of you can relate to this? Lets take inventory of our own behavior tonight. Are we leading our home (with our husbands..for those who are married) in peace or chaos? I choose to have peace in me and therefore I will have it in my home.
Be blessed tonight! Prayers for a sweet peace for you. *Patty*

Shame Steals. Jesus Heals.
"Let all who are weary, come. Let all who are addicted, come. Let all who are brokenhearted, come. Let all who are empty, come."
How many times have your heard a preacher say that from the pulpit and wondered if you should "go"? How many times have you gotten out of your seat to go to the front for prayer for salvation, to receive your healing, or a God-I-need-you-right-now miracle? Did you get the boldness to do so or did shame win?
As I was thinking about alter calls yesterday morning I was inspired by the ones who answered the call to come forward for healing in their bodies or for someone they knew. In sharing my heart about it to my Love someone from the Bible came to my thoughts. We know her as the lady with the issue of blood. She was known as the persistent woman that was not going to let anyone get in her way of the One she knew could heal her. She had this issue running in her body for 12 years. She had done all she knew she could. She spent all she had on doctors who only told her there was nothing else they could do to help. One God ordained moment for her happened when Jesus came through town, on his way to go heal another. The bible says she pushed her way, I think even crawled her way to Jesus. I mean, with an issue of blood like this kind meant she probably didn't have the energy to run her way to Jesus. She was going to do whatever she had to do to get to her Healer, Jesus.
Is this you? Are you reading this wondering to yourself if you should ask for prayer? Have you stayed seated in your seat at church instead of going to the alter (place of safety) because you're too embarrassed about your situation or perhaps don't think you have the will to go? Too many people who have been in the situation have allowed the enemy to lie to them. They have become victim minded to their situation, and in doing so has to live another day, month, and sometimes years in that battle while "waiting" on their healing! I want to encourage you to get up and go! God has placed wonderful pastors and ministers in our lives who will believe with you for your healing. They want to pray with you! And if you have a church family like mine, they want to believe with you, too!
In the end, this special lady you can find in Mark 5 reached her Healer. The instant she touched His hem Jesus knew power had gone out from him. She was healed because of her faith! Her power to believe she could be healed, and her speaking "if only" gave her the determination she needed to get to Jesus!
Get out of your comfort zone. Don't care about who may be looking at you. Start thinking about who is with you! Jesus is waiting for you. Come. Let him heal you. No issue is to great for Jesus! He has already given you the victory in ALL things! Amen?
